Radius

Bevel

HCS
High Carbon Steel is the original material used for doctor blades. Not long ago every press was running a form of this material. High carbon steel is the most economical steel blade option available. It’s a very effective option for shorter runs with more frequent change outs. This material still has a purpose and will continue to for the foreseeable future.

Coated
Coated blades are the newest type of blade category and are the longest life option. We offer several different types of coated blades for for both water and solvent based applications. Our coatings are soft, eliminating the chance of premature anilox wear unlike the harder coatings offered by others. The combination of an exceptional base metal and proprietary coatings allow flexo printers to run for one and two weeks at a time with the same blades.

Gold
Gold is the original long life doctor blade option. This blade has been around for over 30 years. It started becoming more popular 20-25 years ago when enclosed chambers and higher press speeds became the norm. This material has been tremendously successful and is a viable option for most flexo printers. Gold offers exceptional abrasion resistant characteristics vs HCS which is why it's a long life blade.
